Horror

Just witnessed on Alaska Frontier a live Turkey speeding down a hill on a zipline and then a man with a baseball bat swinging hard - turkey guts all over the place. Now in my head forever, I will tell many people who will be shocked you showed this. This is not the content for AP. Killing animals should NOT be entertainment. Disgusting and shame on AP. Now I remember why I stopped watching a while ago...all I was hoping to see was the winner if the dog show.

If I could give less than 1 star I would .. Very Un caring place , snotty employees and was no help to our sick dog . We felt they would not listen to our concerns about our dog and that something was strange because our other dogs had it too all at the same time . They did not seem to want to find what was wrong and sent us home with pain pills when we refused the test that was most certainly NOT going to help being that it was ALL our dogs that were experiencing the same sudden illness .. We felt we were rushed out of there then when we wouldn't do their test. The kicker was as paying she asked soooo what other plans do you have today ? Wtf? my dog was dying what do you think my plans were??? Then they called us today, not to check on her , just to say whoops we sent the records to the wrong place... Never even asked how she was . I contacted our real vet office today and told her what was happening to our dogs and the RECEPTIONIST there figured it out what toxin was attacking our dogs after our 2 minute conversation on the phone . At this poor excuse for a vet they told us no toxins would cause our dogs to have paralysis and pain and most certainly could not be something they ingested ... Also told US to call poison control ourselfs .. What the heck did we just pay you 200 bucks for ??? To call ourselves ??? Thank God our dogs have started to recover ON THEIR OWN..... This vet got 200 bucks for NOTHING... Must be how they keep the place open is deceit because it certainly is not their love or knowledge of animals .

On September 28th 2014 I suspected my parakeet may have been getting sick. Since this was a Sunday all of the vets in my area were closed. I thought about waiting until Monday to take her to see an avian specialist in Saline but this was the second day of her symptoms and I did not want to let her get worse without doing anything. From the first interactions the AEC staff had with my parakeet, things did not seem right. They were not gentle or considerate. They waved papers, clipboards, and pens next to the cage, scaring both birds inside. When it came time for the examination, the doctor did not turn the lights out in order to calm the birds, like every other vet I have taken them to. Instead she chased my bird around the cage with her hand and a small towel, gripping onto whatever part of my bird she could get a hold of. At one point she got hold of my bird's toe and held on, cruelly, while my bird flapped her wings in fright. When she finally got a hold of my bird, she held her in such a way that her beak was open, as if in pain. Although she has never liked being held, she has had to endure it many times. Never has she responded this way. I do not know if she was being held too tight or what, but it was not right. Still, I did not say anything because I thought the vet knew more than me. After the examination, the vet put my bird in a smaller container in case she needed to be handled again. During this time, the vet left the room and I tried calming my bird by sitting next to her and talking to her, telling her everything was going to be okay. I was wrong. The vet came back to get my bird in order to give her a blood test. A short time later she returned, telling me that during the procedure my bird grew weak. They placed her in an oxygen enriched enclosure where she died. When I next saw my bird, the feathers all down the side of her neck were caked with blood. She was an active, energetic bird right up to her death. There was no reason for her to just die. After this had already happened the vet told me it wasn't uncommon for small birds to get so stressed out during these procedures that they end up dying. If she had told me this before hand I never would have consented to the blood test until the other options we discussed were exhausted. My poor bird died either from losing too much blood, becoming too stressed, or a combination of the two. I never expected this would happen. It never crossed my mind that bringing her to the vet would be what killed her. I fault the staff of the Animal Emergency Center for being cruel to my bird and not informing me of the risks. I fault myself for not speaking up, for consenting to the blood test, and for bringing her there in the first place when, despite the symptoms, she was acting like an otherwise healthy bird. Shortly after giving my dead bird back to me in a box, a staff member approached me about payment options. I refused to pay them for killing my bird. The doctor who did the examination then came in and threatened to take me to court. This part I would like to address directly to the Animal Emergency Center: I understand you were attempting to provide a service but you failed miserably. You are not entitled to compensation just for your efforts, especially when those efforts result in such a catastrophic outcome. You can take me to court but you will never get a dime from me. You have already taken more than you will ever know.

Animal Emergency Review

Waiting at clinic for hour and half for them to see my dog after being told the wait would be 45 minutes. Rediculous amount of time waiting while my dog is in pain. I would go somewhere else but they had me sign a form saying I would pay $65 for waiting. Emergency clinics should be more efficient seeing pets. So far most clients seem to have waited to long!

Staff Review

By far the worst clinic I've ever encountered. Rude, unkind, abrupt and rough staff with no bedside manners or ethical standards. If a lowly receptionist behaves this way it is absolutely because her superiors allow it! Medical expertise Is questionable at best, proving lack of patient care and commitment. They are well versed at billing, however! Stay clear if you feel responsible for your pet!

Animal Emergency Center - Dog Surgery Review

Animal Emergency Center - Dog Surgery Review
I had to get surgery for my dog. Doctor even had me do surgery on both legs even though my dog didn't need it just to get more money. Most doctors would say it's not necessary putting your dog through more pain for no reason. He pushed the care credit card on me. I called care credit and asked about payment and interest rate and they lied to me saying as long as my payments are paid I would pay it off. I asked what if I was late a few times. They said you will have to pay an interest rate. The operator was like don't worry you won't notice it. I said I didn't want to be stuck with a 20% interest rate and she said oh no you won't have that problem with us. Not good to join over phone without being able to read the small print.

Sadist Vets

DO NOT USE Animal Emergency Center of Novi! This has to be the absolute, beyond any doubt, worst veterinary service you can find. I strongly recommend that you make the longer drive to Michigan Veterinary Specialists, now BluePearl, on Inkster in Southfield. I only have good things to say about their services. These sadists completely misdiagnosed my ten year old vizsla's symptoms. I don't think any of the vets actually examined him and they didn't spend more than a few minutes reviewing my dogs charts. They certainly had no clue what he was going through. The techs there must be too afraid to suggest to the doctors that their diagnosis isn't working out as it should. When I checked him out, I was told by the night vet, the same one who checked him in, a squeak of a vet who seems to shoot him the hip, that he could do everything but stand up. She put him on restricted exercise. She said he could eat, drink and reposition himself. She said he should be fully recovered in a day or two. I didn't understand why I wasn't allowed to carry him out to the car. As soon as they put him in my car I could see that not only could he not stand, he had no muscle control below the neck. His toes were curled under and his neck was hyper-extended. His head waved frantically back and forth in apparent fright. When I got him home I found his eyes wouldn't focus or react to a bright light, he couldn't eat or drink or respond to his name, he had no bladder or bowel control. He swallowed his tongue suffocating himself and died six hours after I took him home. He was a lovable, kind and caring companion. He did not deserve to suffer like he did. There can be no excuses. These people just care about making money and will use your pet to maximize their return.

HORRIBLE VET!!!! THEY WILL TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU!!!

ook my puppy in late one night due to some very odd behavior. After promises that they would call me and keep me updated, I had to call them every few hours to get updates. The cardiology side of this place is FANTASTIC, the Dr's and staff on that side are very caring and knowledgeable. However, after getting NO answers to why my dog was having this behavior, they sent me back home with her, with a $1000+ bill. Two nights later she was having the same problem, when i walked in, my dog was having what seemed to be seizures in my arms. The lady at the front was just nasty as soon as I walked in the door. She put me into a room so I could see a Dr. Now, mind you, I have my dog in my arms who is pretty much out of it, and is still shaking due to this "unknown" illness. This lady comes back in and asks me "why haven't you filled out your paperwork yet?" . Obviously I have my dog in my arms, so I told her, you should have everything on file, I was just here two nights ago. So again, being very rude, she told me that if I didn't fill out paperwork, the Dr would not see me. I told her that as soon as we got my dog under control and the Dr came in I would fill out everything. But no, that apparently was not good enough, she told me that I either had to fill it out or the Dr would not see us. She was rude to me the entire time I was there. Needless to say, I left and went to the animal ER at Maple and M5, were the staff was much more friendly and understanding of my situation. Would not recomend this vet to ANYONE, nor will I EVER be going back!!!!! Stay away!

Don't go to AEC in Novi, MI

During the three days of my dog Snickers in October 2011, I felt that the veterinarians at AEC are nice people with good heart. However, I didn't have Snickers back home as promised. In the beginning, they suspected urethra rupture and did a contrast study on the urethra. It was such a relief that the contrast study didn't reveal any rupture. But things turned bad the day after, and they did another contrast study on bladder this time (where they did the surgery for bladder stone) and didn't see anything there either. They couldn't figure out why there was leaking and where and wanted me to transfer Snickers to MSU. I was so disappointed and sent Snickers to another vet where Snickers was found septic the next morning. In the afternoon after we left AEC, MSU found three urethra ruptures and they did a six hours surgery trying to fix the urethra which wasn't successful. I lost my dog. What bothers me most is that Dr. Robertson, the owner of AEC, insists on following points: 1. The first contrast study AEC did was accurate, no urethra rupture at that time. 2. When Snickers left AEC, there was no urethra rupture. 3. The three urethra ruptures were developed after Snickers left AEC. I have been discussing the case of Snickers with Dr. Robertson for about a year; so far it is going nowhere. I even sent her the notes from DR. Lamborne at AEC who wrote "Very concerned for urine leaking outside of the urinary tract, despite our inability to find such a leak using contrast." And "even bruising present during surgery, suggesting urine already leaking." Those notes were written right before Snickers left AEC. Silence is all I get now. What they failed to do right said something about their skills, and how the denied their responsibility showed their professionalism and humanity! Due to the fact that Michigan law treats dog as property, it is very hard for pet owners to sue the veterinarians for malpractice and some places are taking advantages of this. Please be aware that AEC doesn't have any specialist, instead they call MSU when they have issues they don't know, at least for my dog's case. And AEC is not the only pet hospital who open 24 hours in the area and there are pet hospitals whose charge is more reasonable.
